This 3 part series will take you through all the steps you need to take to create and publish your own video to YouTube!
Step 1: Outline your concept

Watch similar successful YouTube videos to see if what you want to do has been done before. If so, can you do it better or put a new twist on it?

Step 2: Make your video

- Use a digital video camera, your cell phone, web cam or any other digital device that can record movies | Learn more |
- Recommended resolution settings: 1280 x 720 (16x9 HD) and 640 x 480 (4:3 SD) | Learn More |
- Use a tripod to steady the camera
- Shoot more footage than you need (you can edit out what you don't want later)
- Careful with using the zoom too much; it's better to move closer if you need to
- Natural light is best
- Do a brief test video first to make sure the lighting, sound and framing are good
- Save it or convert it to a format YouTube accepts:
- Windows Media Video(.avi)
- .3GP (cell phones)
- .AVI (windows)
- .MOV (mac)
- .MP4 (ipod/psp)
- .MPEG (usually the best option)
- .FLV (adobe flash)
- .SWF (shockwave flash)
- .MKV (h.264)

Awesome YouTube Video: Women In Art
This cool YouTube video is sure to inspire you and open your eyes to how little has changed in our concepts of beauty throughout hundreds of years of women portrayed in art. This is longer than I would recommend for beginners, but these people obviously knew what they were doing. Enjoy!
