Think Positive and Concentrate!
This is my mother's motto. I thought it was silly when I was a kid, but the truth is she's absolutely right. Write down where you want to be in all areas of your life (career, personal, spiritual, emotional, etc.) and read your goals to yourself every morning. These affirmations can go a long way. I'm sure you've all heard of the Laws of Attraction and The Secret. We are not just made of flesh and blood, we are also energy and spirit. In the western world we sometimes shy away from the intangible because it is hard to understand, but success stems from an integration of all the areas of your life.
The Laws of Attraction say people's thoughts (both conscious and unconscious) dictate the reality of their lives, whether or not they're aware of it. Essentially "if you really want something and truly believe it's possible, you'll get it", but putting a lot of attention and thought onto something you don't want means you'll probably get that too (Source: Wikipedia).
Think this a bunch of new age mumbo jumbo? Well, the power of positive thinking has been around since time began. It's even in the Bible. Phil 4:8: "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is fair, whatever is pure, whatever is acceptable, whatever is commendable, if there is anything of excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy-keep thinking about these things."
In my opinion, positive thinking alone won't work until you are spiritually and energentically balanced. Positive thinking needs to be backed up with action, compassion and lots of grace. Give back to others, pay it forward and have faith. Before you know it, you'll be unstoppable. | Learn More |
